With every type of tea - white, green, oolong, black etc... there are iconic teas. Wonderful teas that have been around for in some cases hundreds or thousands of years. In the long arc of tea drinking experience they are points of destinations.
Then there are newer teas where the grower, processor or blender has improved upon or reinvented our appreciation of a type of tea. A tea that you drink for the first time and immediately love even though you aren't quite sure what it is. This organic Snow Bud (Xue Ya) tea is a newer type of white tea that was developed in the 1980’s using authentic Fujian white tea leaves that go through special processing steps that involve nuances of white tea and green tea production. Snow Bud brews into a pale white tea floral infusion that has a hint of fresh green flavor and a chestnutty aroma.
Heat water (filtered if possible) to a boil and allow to cool to 185˚F. Add one rounded teaspoon loose leaf tea per cup (apprx. 8 ounces). Infuse the tea leaves for 3–5 minutes depending on taste preference. Can be infused 2-3 times.
