One of our most popular organic black tea blends is this wonderful pairing of a delicate organic peach flavor with organic ginger pieces. Fruit infused teas need to be blended just right. The sweetness of the fruit is tasted on the forward area of the tongue while the body of the black tea is slightly bitter and is tasted towards the back of the tongue. If the fruit flavoring is too strong there is a sweetness at the beginning of the sip, then a disappointing flat taste and an ending bitter note.
If the blending ratios are well balanced (like ours!) the initial sweetness of the fruit is not too overpowering and rolls into the tea flavor that is full-bodied without any flatness. The addition of stomach soothing ginger adds a nice spice accent that brings the whole tea together. Great as a hot or iced tea!
Heat water (filtered if possible) to a boil, 212˚F, and add one teaspoon of tea per cup (apprx. 8 ounces). Infuse for 3–5 minutes depending on taste preference. Hot tea can be drunk plain, or may be slightly sweetened with or without milk if desired. If making as an iced tea drink unsweetened or sweetened according to preference.
