Kukicha, a green tea from Japan, is also known as "twig tea". A blend of tea leaves and stems made from Sencha production it is a specialty tea made only in the spring harvest season. Kukicha is noted for its fresh green tea flavor, herbaceous aroma and low astringency. Our organic Kukicha brews into an emerald green infusion with a creamy sweet grassy, slightly nutty flavor. Kukicha is full of powerful anti-oxidants and is lower in caffeine than many other green teas.
HOW TO PREPARE THE TEA: Heat water (filtered, if possible) and cool to 170˚F. Add one teaspoon loose leaf tea per cup (apprx. 8 ounces). Infuse the tea leaves for 2–3 minutes depending on taste preference. Can be infused a second and even a third time.
